Press release: the virtual matchmaking event “Bringing Value to Agrobiomass” successfully concludes with more than 280 bilateral meetings! Follow-up event planned for Autumn 2021.

The online “Bringing Value to Agrobiomass” matchmaking event brought value to international connections and the 264 companies, technology providers, scientists, clusters and biomass organisations also brought value to the event. The EU-funded project AgroBioHeat, together with Enterprise Europe Network and several other EU and national projects, organised the two-day event, which hosted more than 280 bilateral meetings.

On 10th-11th February, the online matchmaking platform was buzzling with activities, as the participants met online to display their technology, express their technological or material needs, or brought attention to their excess biomass resources in order to find cooperation partners to help utilise them. The aim was to facilitate cooperation on sustainable utilisation of biomass from agriculture and side streams from food production. A true match to meet potential cooperation partners.

My overall impression of the matchmaking event is that it went smoothly and it is a very constructive way of interacting with potential business partners – not too long and too short – but “to the point!”, says Thomas Gaardbo, CEO, Linka Energy A/S and adds: “From a practical point, from the presentation of participants, booking of meetings and the meetings, it was all excellently and professionally organised”.

We are very satisfied with the outcome from last week’s virtual biomass event, especially the many engaging and fruitful one-to-one meetings. We look forward to and hope to participate in any future editions.” says Ion Bautisa, Sales Manager, FLSmidth A/S.

The event was a great success”, says Manolis Karampinis, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas and coordinator of the AgroBioHeat project. “We have hit a niche with the very focused topic and meeting online is a hit. The interest exceeded our expectations by far having participants from 37 countries from all over the world. We have already decided to follow up on the success and in the Autumn we plan to organise a second edition.

The AgroBioHeat project organised the free, virtual matchmaking event – Bringing Value to Agrobiomass – on February 10th – 11th, 2021. For more information, visit: https://bringing-value-to-agrobiomass.b2match.io/
